Half-way There!
It feels like a very long time ago since we got handed the keys to the Antrobus Arms, but it also feels like time is flying by!
Even though it's been a while since our last blog post, on the face of it, there doesn't appear to have been much progress (visually) on the project. We expected for this apparent delay, due to the manufacture of the big red steel support beams. There are a number of areas of the pub where walls and pillars have been removed to open up space to be used.
There has been an advantage to the delay of building works inside. It has been to the benefit of the electricians who have had free reign inside the pub while they complete the re-wire of the pub. They have also installed all the data cables for the new ePos system and Wi-Fi, speaker cables for the new sound system and security systems cables too.
There has also been progress on our pursuit of 3 phase power to the pub and fibre optic broadband too. Both of which we hope to have in place for our reopening.
In the meantime, their has been progress on the new main entrance from the rear of the pub. This entrance will be a large double-door entry which is much more accessible and welcoming from the car park.
Other areas that we have made progress:
- New cutlery, crockery, glassware and equipment has been ordered.
- Waste services secured.
- Beer supplier arranged.
- New drinks list and menu development underway.
- New signage ordered.
- Garden works planned.
There is still a lot to be done, and the pressure is definitely increasing, but we cannot wait to get the pub open and start welcoming everyone back!
